Hi, Jim.

So I now have : kernel /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.15-25-386
root=/dev/hda1 ro pci=noacpi pci=routeirq quiet splash
in my /boot/grub/meu.lst

I still can't mount the disk... but I get the following in
/var/log/kern.log and /var/log/syslog :

Jul 5 21:51:41 localhost kernel: [17179647.732000] usb 4-1: new high
speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 2
Jul 5 21:51:42 localhost kernel: [17179648.732000] ehci_hcd
0000:00:1c.3: Unlink after no-IRQ? Controller is probably using the
wrong IRQ.
Jul 5 21:51:53 localhost kernel: [17179659.276000] usb 4-1: device not
accepting address 2, error -110
Jul 5 21:51:53 localhost kernel: [17179659.388000] usb 4-1: new high
speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 3
Jul 5 21:52:04 localhost kernel: [17179670.932000] usb 4-1: device not
accepting address 3, error -110
Jul 5 21:52:04 localhost kernel: [17179671.044000] usb 4-1: new high
speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 4
Jul 5 21:52:15 localhost kernel: [17179681.468000] usb 4-1: device not
accepting address 4, error -110
Jul 5 21:52:15 localhost kernel: [17179681.580000] usb 4-1: new high
speed USB device using ehci_hcd and address 5
Jul 5 21:52:25 localhost kernel: [17179692.004000] usb 4-1: device not
accepting address 5, error -110

So slight change... but still no joy. Any more suggestions I could try?

Gilles.
