how to convert to ReiserFS ?

The option "notail" is enabled by default for a reiser enabled root
partition under ubuntu, but you can also specify the option "noatime" in
your fstab, this will prevent the fs updating atimes and also increase
performance. Atimes are rarely needed so it's safe to disable.
