PC laptop sync software ?

Hi all,

I have ubuntu running on my home PC, I have the live dapper CD running on my 
work XP laptop with a persistent 1GB memory stick (works a dream)

I have samba running for file sharing. I am writting some Python code on my PC 
and would like to be able to sync between my PC and laptop so I can code in 
my lunch hour, sync and code at home :)

Can anyone suggest a syncing app to help with this or is it a case of writting 
a Python app from scratch ?
