No, there isn't. But you ARE aware that ext3 also has a journal,
aren't you?

One of the main advantages of reiserfs for me is, that reiserfs
can be enlarged online (other fs also have that feature). And it's
very nice, that reiserfs can be made smaller, although just offline.
