I had a 4000-item Linux portal (Gary's Encyclopedia, in Wayback
Machine) in the late '90s and was a regular reader of /., LWN, etc.,
so please don't accuse me of ignorance in these matters. I've long
been generally aware of Debian's great efforts to keep their OS pure.
But I will admit to having never wanting to get involved with the
Debian crowd and to not reading their lists. (And I think they had an
impossible job, but have done a good job that's good enough for thier
purposes. You're free to have your opinion; don't ask me to stifle
mine.)
