OK, but that rather depends on using RMS's "pure". But I mainly want
to note one counter example: Linus has made a point to make it hard
for closed-source driver writers to keep up with kernel changes, which
seems to indicate that he'd rather not have working software if it's
not software with usable sources, even if that makes things somewhat
worse for most Linux OS developers/publishers and users (at least in
the short term, blah, blah,...).
BTW, the worst thing RMS has done, IMO, is something that never made
the "news" (suprise, suprise), AFAIK:

Given my love of (x)emacs, I could forgive him for a mistake like this,
except I doubt that he'd ever recognize it as such.
