they work fine. Just make sure you use synaptic to install the multi 
threaded kernel. There is definitaly a point, but only if you use a lot 
of applications which will benefit from it, eg. audio or video encoding. 
Otherwise there is not point at all (why spend all the money for a 
slightly faster boot time).
