Hi Tim,

This seems "close" to my situation.  If there is any way you can add a
network card to your printer, I suuggest using that and giving it a
fixed IP.  Works like a charm.

(scroll down for Ubuntu).  The other thing that may be applicable to
you is that I found that using the suggested driver (from Ubuntu
setup) gave me poorer results than a "generic"(?) HP laserjet one
(also listed in the link).
