It depends on where you are starting from.

Do you already have a home network?
Is the Win XP pc in a workgroup or domain?

The latest Samba config will automatically share printers, making it easier
for you to configure Samba on your machine.  That is what I have done.  Of
course, there are a lot of details involved.
