No, no, :)
It does matter. It matters because the reason why packages are
authentified is to prevent packages from being packed with malware
inside, Trojan, all these nasty things. I don't know the way the
packages can be 'treated' out of control, but authentication is there to
garantee the packages as pure and natural for the systems/machines's health.
When it shouts in the console two possible reasons, either you must
renew the package update (don't forget your prayers, the ritual "apt-get
update" ;) ... ) or the lists are not yet available, wait a few hours or
the following day, and it is fixed and ready again.
More we'll approach the D day for the new official release, more it's
going to be a mess with the packages, if I refer to the last one.

Incase you were talking about the applications from the next version
then no again, because it breaks the dependancies. Unless you find an
app with no dependencies at all, which is rare. I tried and I had to
upgrade the whole system to recover it.(Laptop meant for experiments, so
not too much a problem, except for the narrow band :-/ ).
