Sound Cards (Was: Well, Windows is back on the disk.)

Can someone point me to this solution? I have been posting and reading
everything I can on this list with regards to resolving a conflict
between two sound cards, and I have not seen any such solution.

I may have just missed it, so if such a solution exists, please direct
me to it. My two sound cards are not working in Ubuntu.
