I've got a zv6000 too.  The ATI graphics card has been a pain since ATI
can't seem to release decent drivers, but Ubuntu does well other than that.

You will also have to tweak your Synaptic mouse-pad by hand.  Ubuntu
recognizes it, as a generic mouse, and it's a little frustrating to use at
first.  But, other than that, Ubuntu has been very stable.
