testing partitions ?

OK, so this laptop is going to be pure Ubuntu. Assuming that there is 
nothing on the hard drive that you want to save, just set your BIOS to 
boot from the CD drive, put the Ubuntu install CD in the drive and 
follow the on-screen directions. Ubuntu will handle the partitioning and 
formatting for you.
