gnome-terminal transparency

Well, I did try changing the background color, but that did
not help.

However, the problem is now gone. I just deleted
the .gnome* and other gnome configuration related directories
from my home directory. The next time I booted, transparency
was working.

So I guess it was a problem with my configuration,
though I could not figure out the exact cause.
