Error 10 on new installation

Howdy...

OK...I am trying to install ubuntu on a Celeron 433 machine...I got 
all the way to where I was told to remove the cd and the computer 
would restart...

it restarted and did the memory test, etc...I got all the normal bios 
start up info, the last being "PCI device listing..."

Then:

"Verifying DMI Pool Data.......
GRUB Loading stage1.5.


GRUB loading, please wait...
Error 10

then just the flashing cursor...

I changed the start up order in BIOS to "C"

What else do I need to do?
