Ubuntu on Mac mini as server

Remember, I haven't put Ubuntu (or any other distro) on a mac mini.  
But as I recall, the soundcard didn't work or was severely distorted.  
I think these problems have been overcome now. Of course, for server  
purposes, this is of no account.
