Problems to form in the installation a controller scsi raid 1

I am trying to implement a servant.  The problem which I have once formed 
the controller adaptec with a raid hardware 1, is that instation of ubuntu 
hoary detects discs to me scsi, does not detect a disc raid.  That I must do 
so that detects the raid to me of the controller?  As I can add new drivers 
of the controller in the installation?
