What does no connection mean? Does your network cable have a link
light? Are you using a particular application to access the network
which doesn't work on Ubuntu?
Tell us who the DSL provider is. Often you have to login, but we
cannot tell you the specifics unless you give us this. Also, can you
ping the gateway? If you don't know your gateway, look at your
networking information on Windows, and then open a terminal on Linux
and type:
ping gateway-ip
Replace gateway-ip with the gateway you determined. Are your DNS
settings proper? Can you ping the DNS servers?
