I'd try a "pvscan" next.

If that doesn't tell you, and if this is Hoary, and if the
RAIDs are stoppable, then stopping and starting the RAIDs
will usually switch them from EVMS to MD which is easier to
understand.

As a final resort, try "evms_query disks" and the other
evms_query commands to figure out the configuration.
