[Dapper] How to get mounted disk show on the desktop

It's things like this that make me question the GNOME philosophy. It
seems that they try to make things so "easy" that changing something
that should be a matter of pointing and clicking maybe twice becomes
overly complicated.

But that's just my opinion.
