At the top of your desktop, in the pulldown menus, Applications /
Accessories has an application called "Terminal". Running this
"opens a terminal" (a.k.a "a console window", "a bash shell", etc).
In that window, typing "killall esd" will attempt to stop any and
all applications named esd dead in it's tracks. There's more than
one way to killall. You can specify which "signal" you would like
to send to the running application. Type "man kill", "man killall"
"kill -l" and/or "killall -l" for more info.
