Yeah, that's not too bad, though I really prefer to keep the
work/context in my workspaces separate. Plus it's a pain because I
pretty much have to set it each time or set up devilspie or use a window
manager other than metacity.

Still, it might be decent enough a solution, and one that hadn't come to
my mind. I'll see how it fits into my daily work style.
