installed Ubuntu 5.10 no sound on isa

Hi
Installed 5.10 but no sound on a old computer cpu 250 with 80 ram
I did sudo apt-get install isapnptools and did a sudo pnpdump >isapnp.txt
and also did pnpdump --config >isapnp.config.
Do I copy the isapnp.config to /etc or what do I do next.  From there
I am lost to do next.
