Access denied on CDROM

Hi,
I have something very strange. I got a CD that was burn by I don't know
which Windows tool. When inserting into the tray, it was mounted ok on
/media/xxx but when I wanted to look at the prictures, I got "Permission
denied" errors.
To my great surprise, all the files were owned by a not existing user
(UID=501 which is not available on my system) and read-only by him. So I
was denied access. Any idea why? And telling uid=<me> to mount in fstab
didn't changed anything...

Thanks
