[Dapper] Flight 4 Firefox Oddness on x86_64

Firefox is not registering its plugins, and pluginreg.dat remains blank.

Have tried the new profile approach, which doesn't work, and I also did
a full deinstall and reinstall of the firefox bundle (by adding back
ubuntu-desktop).

Still nothing.

Even if I add another plugin, such as the one bundled with swf-player
the plugin appears in /usr/lib/firefox/plugins but doesn't work.

Any ideas?
