Installing Ubuntu Linux on an older PC

Hi,
I am writing to ask a question regarding the installation of Ubuntu
Linux. I have an older PC (Celeron 400 MHz & 170 MB RAM) and I am, for
some reason, not able to boot from the CD. Is there some way to
initially boot from the floppy drive, or something else I might try? I
know for sure that I have burned the disc as an image with an ISO
recorder, as my newer PC has not trouble reading/booting from the disc.
Thanks in advance to anyone who might be able to help me!
