Ubuntu for servers: Soon or Sore?

To Whom It May Concern:

Bug 15466 (/dev/i2o/hda as a bootable device in grub)
is already 10 months open whereas many servers are
using /dev/i2o/  . See also
https://launchpad.net/distros/ubuntu/+source/grub/+bug/15466

Can we expect that that bug will be fixed for Dapper?

BTW:
- Since the Debian Sarge installer, both linux24 and linux26,
  (grub) does recognize /dev/i2o ; why Ubuntu does not?
