Thanks Alex for your post! In the meantime I found this site:

There was the following hint: "Finally, you may have to add this on the 
client side(where you are printing from): /etc/cups/client.conf
ServerName hostname(IP might work) "
So one has to edit also on the clientside the cups-config!!

What I am wondring about is: Is this always necesarry? In what 
circumstances I can avoid editing the client-files?
