I don't have a Dell, but my JVC MP-XV841 comes with the Intel 2200BG and
it works great with Ubuntu.
lspci shows it as:
0000:01:05.0 Network controller: Intel Corp. PRO/Wireless 2200BG (rev
05)
It works "out of the box" with a Breezy install. I haven't noticed any
reliability problems.
