1 Gigabyte SD card "full" after 467 MB

Two problems I've encountered with "add on" storage.
1) if you delete a file off the storage device it will only create a
.Trash-username and move it there. You need to "View hidden" and then
delete the ".Trash" file.
2) be careful with your naming structures, special characters that
work on a linux file system will not work on a fat file system. (ie
!@#$%^&*() in the file name will not copy to a USB key or Memory card,
and it won't pop up an error to say so)

Check for both of those things.. my be it's point 1) that's your problem.
