on-screen keyboard?

Hello,

How can I input characters via my mouse? In other words, is there a way to
"type" with the mouse and an on-screen visual keyboard?
In my menu/accessibilty, I have something called "on-screen keyboard" but it
doesn't load up.

I also tried synaptic-ing GTKeyboard, but it looks so complicated to use. It
doesn't seem to work, or maybe it's just because it's in the hands of a
newbie.

If anyone has a simple solution, let us know.
