"Forum" is a bit of a misnomer.  It's a mailing list that is mirrored
as an NNTP newsfeed, an RSS newsfeed, etc via GMANE (and possibly others).
GMANE's pretty cool.  For various ways to read/post/subscribe/search see
the links on the pages below:

  Ubuntu-Users:
    http://dir.gmane.org/gmane.linux.ubuntu.user

  Sounder:
    http://dir.gmane.org/gmane.linux.ubuntu.sounder

(And naturally, from there, you can explore all the other lists GMANE has
to offer.)
