Installation problems

  Thanks for the response. As I've stated before, I'm no computer genius, and I certainly know very little about Linux. Judging by all of the posts to the list, it seems I'm going to have to become somewhat of an expert user. This doesn't really bother, it was not my goals however. I primarily just wished to eradicate Windows from my life! I am quite adept at learning new(to me!) technologies, and generally welcome the challenge! So, you will need to be more specific, please. I did open a .txt file named  md5sum, however, I had no idea what I was looking at, apperantly it was a list of everything in the boot file? I do not know what and where to check, as you suggest. If the file were corrupted, I would not know it unless it was clearly stated "This File is Corrupted"! Lol! Very new(3 days) at Linux, and have yet to use it! However, I have a relentless determination, so I refuse to give up.
