Firefox, Thunderbird, Suspend Resume issues.

Hello,
I have the strangest thing happening on my Dell D800 laptop running Edgy.
After resuming from a suspended state I find that the Firefox and 
Thunderbird windows that I had open are gone.  The wireless interface 
eth1 also goes down.  Now this doesn't always happen.  Every once in a 
while everything will be fine after a suspend resume cycle.  It does 
seem though Firefox and Thunderbird crash only when the network 
connection goes down.  Maybe the two are related?  I don't even know 
where to begin to try and find a solution.

Any pointers would be much appreciated.
