search problem with evince

Some pdfs are not made from text and transformed to the pdf format. They
are scanned pictures of pages. I think this might be why you cannot search
for words because the book is actually pictures not words. I tried the
pdftotext utility and it just output gobbledygook. So, not much text in
that document.
