The thing I don't like about registering a domain name is that I would
have to either agree to let anyone and everyone with internet access see
my name, address, phone number and other private personal information or
pay extra money to have my personal information hidden by a third-party
proxy company. I have actually found that services like dyndns.com
offer a much better solution even though the domain names are longer.
At least they don't require that I sell my soul to the whois database.
And to top it off, it's free unless I need more than 5 names. You can't
beat free. :) And those services work with a static IP just as well as
they do with a dynamic IP. And dyndns for one isn't going anywhere
anytime soon.

Just my $0.02 USD,
Lorenzo
