Ubuntu icon/logo in the gnome panel: how to change it ?

I think you can use inkscape to convert png to svg - at least, "Save As"
from a .png  opened in Inkscape seems to save as either "inkscape svg" or
"plain svg" 

whether this works well for icons, I don't know as I haven't tried it :) 

I saw no complaints from inkscape when I saved as either format though ...
