Firefox, switch default mp3 player away from Totem.

I have recently noticed (since installing to Ubuntu 6.10?) that Totem
wants to automatically start up to play mp3's when using Firefox.  I
cannot find where to change the preferences to use another application
like XMMS.  How do I change the preferences?  The download save box
does not ask me whether or not I want to open the mp3 with another
application.
