I wouldn't know. Haven't used macs in about 10 years. Used to develop
some stuff on them and learned there's not much magical about them.  At
least I understand they got a lot more stable now that they're based on
BSD and run on Intel hardware.

The one thing that keeping OS X would give you is the ability to run
decent video editing software.  That's a bit of a dark spot in Linux
based OS's.

That said: How much of current Mac Powerbook hardware is supported on
Ubuntu?  Does it all work, incl. the wide screen, wifi, bluetooth and so
on?

Come on, I'm not sure if it's different in the USA but overhere it's
almost standard to leave Windows off. :) (or at least leave the sticket
off, wink wink nudge nudge) .

Ehmmm: With OS X you actually get something for your tax dollars? :-)
