umm.... it's already installed by default in Ubuntu - and why would you
install a Debian package anyway ? Using Debian packages is deprecated
( not to mention potentially dangerous) .

 $ apt-cache rdepends lshw
lshw
Reverse Depends:
  ubuntu-standard
  ubuntu-standard
 |lshw-common

"ubuntu-standard" is one of the metapackages for an Ubuntu
install, which will pull in lshw .
