Getting an hfsplus using ubuntu 6.10?

Hi folks

I'm running Ubuntu desktop 6.10, kernel 2.6.17-10 generic. I have a
spare disk currently with ext3 filesystem. I would like to replace
ext3 with an hfsplus filesystem for use with MacOSX 10.4.

I have seen a discussion of how to do it with darwin, but not with
ubuntu. Is there a way to put an hfsplus filesystem on a disk using
ubuntu 6.10?
