No new additions are made once a release is out the door (I think).
You can enable backports and hope someone backports it to Dapper.

I used an old version, I thought it wasn't very good, but that's along
time ago and apparently it has improved, I wanted to try it but being
on dapper I can't. If I get some free time I may try it in my Edgy
Virtual Machine.
It might be possible to install from source, but it will probably
still want that library you could install a newer version of that
library from source, but there is quite a high probability your
machine may no longer function properly so I wouldn't risk it.
