Uninstalling broken packages - please help

Hi,
when I upgraded form Dapper to Edgy the installation was not completed
correctly. The result are two broken files in Synaptic Package Manager
"courier-authdaemon" (version 0.47-13 Dapper) and
"courier-authlib-userdb" (version 0.53.2-3 Edgy).

I tried to repair or remove these packages with Synaptic Package Manager
and APT but it didn't work. The message was: "dpkg: error processing
courier-authdaemon (--remove): Package is in a very bad inconsistent
state - you should reinstall it before attempting a removal."

How can I reinstall "courier-authdaemon" version 0.47-13 ? Synaptic
Package Manager only offers an upgrade to version 0.53.2-3 which does
not work.

There are also dependency problems which prevent configuration of
"courier-authlib-userdb". This package depends on
"courier-authlib"(>=0.58) which I cannot install however.

Klaus
