Random sounds being played after install of Amarok

I just installed Amarok 1.4.2 yesterday following these directions:

Now I hear random sounds being played occasionally.  They sound like
some kind of notification or alert, but they don't seemed to be
related to any particular event (receiving an email, etc.)  I'm
wondering if it is something KDE related that amarok installed, or I
guess it could be something totally unrelated.  Anyone have any ideas?
