While I know nothing about x3270, I know from customer
experiences, that tn5250 works but often does not have the
features that your users probably are used to have in
their windows emulations.

If it does not fullfill, what you are looking for, you could buy
ericom powertherm emulation products, that simultaneously
support 5250 and 3270 (and many, many more) with "windows-like"
features.
