The Ubuntu Code of Conduct [http://www.ubuntu.com/community/conduct] can
be interpreted in a number of different ways, but generally heeding the
advice to "be respectful" is a pretty good guideline. Some people may be
offended if you use swearwords when talking to them, and you should
respect that and avoid that kind of words when talking with them.
The Code of Conduct and the moderation that follows with it is merely to
ensure that there continues to be a positive atmosphere around Ubuntu
with few flamewars which often scare off new contributors who aren't
used to that kind of discussion. I hope you can appreciate the
importance of this as well.
That said, I'm sure that most users of Ubuntu won't mind the occasional
heated debate on the off-topic channel.
