system crashed after xserver-xorg-core update

same thing happend to me....i'm sorta a noob at linux but i know some
things about computers...

it said there was a problem with the X server configuration...

i logged into linux in text .....ran startx ...the error was (EE)no
devices

i tried replacing the xorg.conf file with one that i had recently
backed up (i'm a geek...i do arbitrary backups)

still no go

then i reinstalled xserver-org-core incase there was some sort of error
in the initial install...

nothing


so seeing that i had back ups of everything and all of my real files
are held on the debian server in my closet....i just reinstalled ubuntu
last night

did all the updates today accept for the xorg core update

sorry i idn't collect more information on what the errors
where...hopefully that info help someone who's got the knowledge to
explain the answer
