This update wasn't a security update (it wasn't released in
dapper-security but, rather, dapper-updates).  This doesn't mean, of
course, that the package isn't buggy (I have no idea, but I'm willing to
take the word of several people in a thread who all seem to be having
problems).

One of you should file a bug in Malone on the "xorg-server" source
package so that Rodrigo will be alerted to the problem, and he can help
you work through it.
