Turn for the worse :(

First I ran this command at the site you linked to:

alazarin at alazarin-desktop:~$  wget
http://people.ubuntu.com/~jriddell/kubuntu-packages-jriddell-key.gpg
--10:58:00--
http://people.ubuntu.com/~jriddell/kubuntu-packages-jriddell-key.gpg
           => `kubuntu-packages-jriddell-key.gpg'
Resolving people.ubuntu.com... 82.211.81.132
Connecting to people.ubuntu.com|82.211.81.132|:80...
connected.
HTTP request sent, awaiting response... 200 OK
Length: 26,430 (26K) [text/plain]

100%[===================================================>]
26,430         3.36K/s    ETA 00:00

10:58:10 (3.36 KB/s) -
`kubuntu-packages-jriddell-key.gpg' saved
[26430/26430]

Then, this part is weird, cause I did NOT enter the
following command! But it appeared in the konsole
nonetheless:

alazarin at alazarin-desktop:~$ sudo apt-key add
kubuntu-packages-jriddell-key.gpg
gpg: no ultimately trusted keys found
OK

"OK"?

Next:

Copied over the new sources to sources.list then ran
adept->update, then upgrade all, then adept crashed,
then killed adept using KDESysGaurd, then ran adept,
then nothing. Nothing opens. Nothing in syslog.

But from ps aux:
