Releasing with a known broken kernel

Dear "probably" and "if" ,

I have just reinstalled Ubuntu with a 6.06.1 CD and I did not notice
anything different or any bugs.
I have an AMD64. When I boot up, I have a new kernel, a recover type safe
mode kernel, and a memtest.
So, what's this about not being able to install from CD? also I'm using
Gnome if it makes a difference.

Also I did a complete scan using the latest plugins and settings for the
NESSUS security scanner and my system didn't have any holes, or known
exploits. However, my windows xp machine had about 25 possible exploits even
though I have all the windows updates.

What if - What if - What if...
